Yesterday, I noticed that my body's changing it is my abdomen. I take a shower everyday but I didn't notice it. I don't know why but I haven't been looking my body well enough. Because usually I don't measure my weight, I didn't think I was gaining more weight. Then, I tried to figue out what my problem was. Nowadays, I try to cook myself and it is one of the reasons I guess because I can cook only one person's meal. I don't want to leave something and it means I sould eat everything. In addition, I'm not good at calculating how much is enough for one person. Also, many times I spoil many vegetables and I don't want that. So I cook too much and I don't want to leave anything. It means I eat everything. So, I gained some weight and I am almost fat........
I have to consider this as a problem. I need an excercise routine.I like to eat but, No pain No gain.....

どーも、僕です。
最近読んだ記事から。最新世論調査、６８％が「ブッシュ政権は失敗」と
68％の人がブッシュ政権は失敗と考えているようです。まあ反対はしないし、僕もいけてない大統領に一票をいれるでしょう。ただなんかこの数字に違和感を感じてしまいます。そもそも誰が選んだのさ？ってことです。最初の４年である程度どんな人間であったかってことは分かっていたことだと思うのだが・・・戦争だって一期目で始めているわけだし。68%という数字は絶対に票を入れた人が含まれているわけで、なんとも無責任な気がしてしまうのは僕だけでしょうか。自分で選んでおいて、失敗したからってお前、ダメ男だよ！って態度はどうなんでしょ？？ルーレットで「お前が言った数字に賭けるよ！」って言っておいて、外れたら「お前のせいだ！」と言っているような、程度の低い意見のような気がしてしまいます。政治は難しいのだろうけど、何とも腑に落ちない数字、68%です。もう少しちゃんと人を選ぶことができなかったのでしょうか？

今日の昼飯は牛丼です。しかもなんと、吉野家でございます！！知り合いの方から近所（それほど近所じゃあないけど。アメリカ的に近所）に吉野家があるという情報をキャッチ。そりゃあ行かないわけにはいきません。
どーん、YOSHINOYA USAです。
こっちの吉野家ではなんとメニューが豊富。牛丼以外にも天丼やら照り焼きチキンやら、２種類楽しめるコンボやら。お味のほうはどうなんでしょうか？試さないとですね。もちろん僕は初回なのでビーフボウルで。クラムチャウダーも頼んでみました。レギュラーサイズでも肉の量は十分。日本のしみったれた肉の量とは違います。さすがアメリカ。物足りなさといえば生卵でしょうか。カリフォニアではレストランなどで生卵を出すのが禁止されているようです。うーん残念。to goで生卵付きもありかな。
そして帰りはアップル帝国の横を通って帰宅。その通りの両サイド、こっちにも、あっちにもアップルの看板、建物だらけでした。中でどんなお仕事をしているのか？興味深々です。

原因を、今頃知ってああ恥ずかしの巻き
どーも、僕です。
今のパソコンを使い始めて早１年半。当初からなんか動きが遅いなーなんて思いながら使い続け、最近は激遅！！デフラグを何回もするが、効果なし。そしてやっとこ原因を突き止めました。メモリですね。何とびっくり僕のパソコンには512Mbのメモリが刺さっていたのだ。そりゃ遅いよね・・・なんで今までメモリのことを考えなかったのでしょうか。自分にがっかりです。
というわけで、分かれば早速増設です。最近のメモリはお安くなってますね。2Gで3000円くらいと、アンビリーバボー価格です。買ったのはKingston社のメモリ。このメーカーは有名なのでしょうか？正直分かりません。すんまそーん。
Thinkpad T60を使ってますが、メモリースロットはなんとこんなところに。裏側じゃあないのね。
ちなみに今までの状態。びっくり504Mb。これでXP動かすのは無理がありますね。
そしていっきに５倍へ！
もう、サクサク、サクサクなのである！ぎゃんぎゃんソフトが立ち上がっていくのである！！

Which should I use??
Many people say that if we learn a language that is not our native language, we should use the dictionary which is written for what we want to learn.
As for me, I always use English - Japanese dictionary and translate to Japanese because it is the faster way to understanding what is the meaning of words. My English teachers told me I should use English - English dictionary and think in English and I agree with them. But, I need a lot of time to know the meanig of words if I use the English - English dictionary because when I try to find the definition of a word, I look at other unknown words in that definition and I would use the dictionary again and again. It is kind of a never ending story. Many times I can't understand it clearly and finally I use the English - Japanese dictionary.

昨日はMartin Luther King の誕生日。そして今日は第４４代アメリカ合衆国大統領の就任式。人種問題を考えるような週になりそうです。「I have a dream」から「Yes, we can!」までつながってほしいものです。ライブでの就任式を見逃したため、New York Timesで演説のスクリプトを読み、Youtubeで映像を見ました。正直、ちゃんと理解できませんでした。うーん。ということで、今日のネタは自分復習用に作りました。

Homes have been lost, jobs shed, businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly, our schools fail too many, and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet.
MR. OBAMA: These are the indicators of crisis, subject to data and statistics. Less measurable, but no less profound, is a sapping of confidence across our land; a nagging fear that America's decline is inevitable, that the next generation must lower its sights.
Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real, they are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this America: They will be met.

On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord.

Our minds are no less inventive, our goods and services no less needed than they were last week or last month or last year. Our capacity remains undiminished. どんだけ～
どーも、僕です。今日のお昼は久々に外食。どうもメキシカンな料理が食べたくなったのである。近所のファーストフード店へ行ってきました。メニューを見て、んーどれどれ。ブリトーのコンボに決定。ドリンクのサイズを聞かれたので、僕は無難な日本人。もちろんＭを注文しました。ところがどっこいしょ。ここはアメリカ。Ｍでもでかすぎなのである！！どんだけ～
この写真でこのでかさが伝わるだろうか。なんで写真ってやつは上手く写ってくれないんだろうね。現物のでかさはもっとインパクトがあるのだが。これでＬを注文してたら洒落になりませんな。ましてやスーパーサイズだったら・・・これを見てスーパーサイズミーを思い出してしまった。そりゃこんな量を毎日飲んでたら病気になるよね。アメリカ人の太る理由がここにある。

ビール特集
どーも、僕です。
久々のビール特集です。今回は３種類をご紹介します。
最初はメキシコ産のTECATE。僕の中ではメキシコ産はいけるのが多いです。迷った時はメキシコ産。メキシコ産は基本ラガービールでさっぱり系が多いのだ！このTECATEは安かったので購入。１本１００円以下です！！日本でも比較的見つけやすいでしょうか。扱っているレストランなどがあります。
そしてお次はKONA BrewingのLongBoard。KONA Brewingはハワイの会社で、何種類かビールを作ってます。名前は忘れたけど、ここのAleがお気に入りでっす。LongBoardはラガーとエールの中間みたいな味でした。これも日本で飲めるかな。
そして最後は自ビールです！カリフォニア、バークレーで作られているこのビール。正直、うまい！！まいうーです。先週友達にお勧めされて飲んでみたが、なかなかなのである！若干癖のあるラガービールで、もう一杯いきたくなるような味です。

まだまだ１月。冬真っ盛り！のはずなんですが・・・ここ数日、異様に暑い日が続いてます。学内ではキャミソール、タンクトップがちらほやと・・・
どうなってるんですかね？この気候？でも朝は１０度以下なんですねー。初めての海外、西海岸での冬なので、これが普通なのか異常なのかも分からない。

Back Flip特集
どーも、僕です。
世の中にはすごい、切れている人（小力ではありません。最近テレビに出てるのかな？）が沢山！
まずはこちら。スノーモービルでバックフリップ。
そしてこちらはトラビスパストラーナのモトクロスでのダブルバックフリップ。２年前のX-gameで達成。職場でこっそり録画してもらってみてたけど、度肝を抜かれました！
ちなみに彼は四輪の世界、ラリーでも活躍してます。数年前のX-gameのラリーではWRCの帝王、コリン・マクレーを破って優勝してしまったくらいの腕前です。
そして、最近見つけたこの映像。車椅子でバックフリップ！どうなっているんでしょうか！？
スノーボーダーやモーグラーだけがバックフリップをするわけではないのですねー。恐るべし。

どーも、僕です。
今回は久々に家のとほほネタについて。今回の主役は食器洗い機です。最近我が家では食器洗い機は食器置き場として利用されてます（一度もスイッチが入ったことはない）。まあ、皆さんそんなに食器使わないし、食事の時間もばらばらだから手洗いが手っ取り早いわけ。そんなある日、食器を取り出そうと思ってかご部分を引き出したらこの有様！！
食器洗い機自身が固定されてないでやんの！どういうこと？よく見ると、ねじ止めすべきところが全くもって作業されてないのである！またもやこんなところにもちょー適当仕事を発見してしまった。
ちなみに、ドア（ふた？）は全開に開きません。壁に引っかかってしまうのだ！なぜ動作部分を確認しながら作業ができないのでしょうか？？

今日のネタは芸者ガールズで。youtubeにHeyHeyHeyに出た（本人たちだけど）時の映像を発見。
演奏の後にトーク部分も入っており、教授との話が入ってます。教授はカラオケと合コンが好きらしい。最後のほうの話でKenny Dope(Hip Hop、House music界で有名な人)が気にいったらしく、アメリカでリリースしたい！みたいな話もあったみたい。リリースしたのかな？？
それにしてもテイ・トウワと坂本龍一とのタッグでってのがすごいよなー

どーも、僕です。
ついに僕のパソコンにeclipseがインストールされました。今週からJavaの授業がスタート。それに伴ってインストールしました。やっぱ分からない言葉で分からないことを勉強するのは大変ですね。復習に時間がかかりそうです・・・
早速クラスが出てきて、ん？っとなって引っかかってしまいました。日本語のページを漁るか・・・
ついでに、SSHでの通信ができるようにPuTTYもインストールしました。
今日のUNIXの授業でやったコマンドも覚えなくては！
使いこなせるようにならなければ・・・

Lake Tahoeで初滑り！
どーも、僕です。
今日は初滑りをレポート！カリフォニア州とネバダ州の境のレイクタホにあるスノーリゾートへ行ってきました。湖の周りにはかなりの数のスキー場があるようです。その中でHeavenlyという名のリゾートへ行ってきました。規模的には蔵王くらいでしょうか。結構広い感じでした。そして景色は最高！！初日は吹雪で激寒でしたが、その後は快晴！山頂からは湖が見渡せるという最高のロケーションです！
そして、麓は都会な雰囲気が出ちゃうくらい建物がいっぱい。こんなミスマッチな写真まで撮れちゃいます。ちなみに写真に写っている信号の向こうがネバダ州で僕が立っているところがカリフォニア州。向こうはギャンブル可、路上飲酒可。こちらは両方不可という、日本人的には何とも理解しがたい状況です。
後ろの建物は左右ともカジノが入っている建物。ハードロックカフェが入っていたから行ってみたんだけど、観光客の皆さんはギャンブルに熱中してました。僕はルーレットを見ていただけなのにIDを見せろ！と言われる始末。アジア人は若く見られるようです。
そして滑りのほうはこんな感じで。今年も年甲斐もなくパークで大はしゃぎ！！
そして、はしゃいだ結末がこんなことに・・・ボックスの上で転び、コーピングに弁慶をヒット。またしても、あいたたたな結果となりました。
今回は始めてのビデオ投稿。久々にエンコ作業をしちゃいました。JISSでの仕事を思い出すな～～ もちろんインターレースは解除しましたよん。ただ投稿するとFlashになっちゃうようです。結局再エンコしちゃっているようで、エンコード作業の意味がなかったかも・・・

板はマイナーなAcademyをチョイス。日本では手に入れにくい一品です。そして、日本よりもかなり安く買えました。今回の板はツインチップです。日本に置いてきたのはディレクショナルだったので。
ビンディングはRideをチョイス。正直、僕の好みなブランドではなかったのですが、友達の薦めにより購入。悪くはないが、Burtonのほうが細かいところがよくできてるかな。まあ気に入ってます。スタンスは２０度、１５度のダックスタイル！
ブーツはやっぱりBurton。これが新品で１万円くらい。かなり安いでしょ！？
そして最後は今シーズン９年目、Scottのゴーグル。白○さん、覚えてるでしょうか、このゴーグル？早く新しいの買え！って言われて購入した一品です。２年前の顔面着地などを経て、レンズはヒビだらけ。でもまだまだ使えます！
ちなみにこれはスノーボード用ではなく、モトクロス用です。国道６号沿いにあるバイク専門店、ナンカイ（たぶんこんな名前だったような）で買ったものです。だってスノーボード用より安かったんだもん。

若干時間が経ってしまいましたが、大晦日のネタを。大晦日はホストブラザー宅にて年越しパーティへ参加。アジア系といえどもアメリカ人。やることが違います。基本的に日本と違うのが、家がでかいためホームパーティが余裕なのである！！何人この家に来ているのさ！っていうくらい次々に人が訪れていました。そして家の中はナイトクラブ状態！！
そしてこんなものまで外に準備してありました。氷でできていて、上からお酒を流して飲むという、なんともアメリカンな発想！！もちろんビールなどではなく、ハードリカーが流し込まれる。お前もやるか？（ニュアンス的にはお前もやれよ！）って言われて僕も一度挑戦。おっと！なんて言って二倍ぐらいの量が流れてきましたとさ。
この夜は色んな人と話をする機会がありました。特に弁護士の人間が多く（弁護士もやっぱりアメリカン。アホなことしてました）中には日系アメリカ人で日本語が話せる人もいました。話してて不思議だったのが彼は母親が日本人で、幼少のころは日本語で話していたのに、今は英語で考えているのだ。いつ彼は日本語から英語へスイッチしてしまったのか？最近はこんなことばっかり考えてます。
